Mother’s Day is coming and since we’re still social distancing, here are 5 things you can do with your mom while you’re at home!
1. Attend a Virtual Class Together
Going on trips is not something we can all do right now, but much like the virtual tours, other online courses, including exercises, cooking lessons, and art workshops, can be taken instead. Find a good yoga YouTube channel to get some meditation in with mom or sign up for one of those art and wine classes and attend, virtually, together.
2. Watch a Movie Together
Chances are, you've spent plenty of time parked in front of the television, so why not do it "alongside" your mom? If you want to go the extra mile, mail her, in advance, a mug and a cozy pair of socks, along with a proposed tune-in time of a favorite movie—extra points for one featuring mother-daughter or mother-son dynamics.
Here is a list of mother’s day movies that your mom will surely enjoy!
Mamma Mia! Here we go again (2018)
Little Women (2019)
Freaky Friday (2003)
Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)
Mother’s Day (2016)
3. Tackle a Home Decor Project
If you're still spending time together, roll up your sleeves and help give her home a little extra love, whether it's wallpapering the bathroom or installing an entryway coat rack. There are plenty of home DIY decor projects that are available online!
4. Serve Breakfast in Bed
Start of mom’s special day by ordering a tray full of her favorite breakfast goodies and bringing them right to her room. Or you prepare the breakfast yourself by checking out these Mother's Day breakfast-in-bed recipes!
5. Plan an At-Home Spa Day
Moms deserve to be pampered, and the pampering is truly appreciated on her birthday and Mother's Day. While we could usually send our moms to the spa for a treatment, there are still ways to do that at home. Let the kids set up stations for manicure and pedicure, clean the bathroom and put scented candles around.
