As mentioned, Humber Heights is located at the northeastern end of Etobicoke, Ontario.
The eastern boundary of Humber Heights is marked by the Humber River. The rest of Humber Heights is bounded by Eglinton Avenue to the south, Royal York Road to the west, and St. Philips Road to the north.
The community is split in the middle by Humber Creek running from west to east. The area north of the creek is known as Westmount, and south is known as Humbervale. Both of these names sometimes stand in as the name for the community as a whole.
Neighbouring communities are Weston and Mount Dennis (east), Humber Valley (south), Royal York Gardens (west), and The Westway (west).
Toronto's Harbor District is approximately 15 minutes away by car to the southeast. Other transport options include the Kitchener light rail line which runs past the northeastern corner of the community and is accessible at the GO Station in Weston. Highway 401 is also accessible a short distance north of Humber Heights.
The majority of Humber Heights' area is taken up by single-family homes. However, in terms of residential units, a large portion are contributed by a few apartment condo buildings along the southern edge of Humber Heights.

The majority of homes in Humber Heights are mid to late-century, built between 1960 and 1980. The most luxurious homes in Humber Heights can be found along Yorkleigh Avenue. Many of these homes have carriage drives, deep setbacks, and stately residences.
There are some older, early-century homes in Humber Heights. Although relatively rare, these provide a dash of traditional style, including Tudor, Edwardian, and Victorian designs.

Humber Heights residents have access to a huge selection of parks. Many of these are dotted along the Humber River, with the highlight being West Lions Park on the eastern bank. This park is easily accessible via Lawrence Avenue, and a footbridge that connects with both Raymore Drive and the Humber River Recreational Trail.
Other parks in the area include La Rose Park, Westmount Park, Douglas Ford Park, and Chapman Valley Park.
Overall the neighbourhood of Humber heights is very bike and foot-friendly. For trips further away, Highway 401 and Eglinton Avenue are two main access routes closeby. There are also bus lines that operate in the area.
On the western side of Royal York Road there is a shopping plaza with a variety of convenient stores and businesses, and there is also a small plaza on La Rose Avenue, home to the locally famous La Rose Bakery.
