Real Estate in Maple, ON

While Maple has no determined area or boundaries, its historic centre is considered to be the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street. Around this core, the community has grown rapidly in recent years, adding many new subdivisions and residences.

Homes within Maple tend to be medium to large single-family residences, adorned by great windows looking out from main bedrooms positioned over spacious garages. Recessed doorways, decorative keystones, and redbrick exteriors complete the stately, almost Romanesque look of these homes.

Expect to find these residences along tree-lined streets with wide, forward-facing drives and open front yards.

Other common features include classically-inspired white gables, prominent quoins, and cornice returns.

History of Maple

Maple's history begins in the first half of the 19th-century when the area was settled by the Noble family. Joseph Noble was the town's first postmaster, and it was named "Noble's Corner" in honor of him in 1852. The town's name was later changed to Rupertsville to honour another respected resident, Doctor Rupert.

Maple lived in the shadow of its larger neighbours until a rail line was built through the town by the Ontario, Huron, and Simcoe Railway. The line was bought by the Canadian National Railway in 1900 and the station was renamed to Maple.

Location and favourable development policies lead to the town's rapid growth thereafter.

Community Amenities & Highlights

No writeup of Maple is complete without mentioning Canada's Wonderland, a large and popular amusement park with enough rides and attractions to keep you busy for days.

Other highlights include the Vaughan Mills shopping centre (home to the Legoland Discovery Centre), and the Mackenzie Glen District Park.

North of Teston Road, the residential communities of Maple give way to farmland, dotted by creeks, woods, secluded residential enclaves, and other attractions.
